"Join the N-CORPS!"

(Draft version #1)

The African-American Historical Association of Newton County looks forward to participating in the "The Newton County Oral Partners" (The "N-Corps)

"The Newton County Oral Partners" (The "N-Corps) initiative is a collaborative coalition of organization and individuals committed to documenting and celebrating the rich and diverse oral history of Newton County, Georgia. Our emphasis is on partnership, among people of many different interests and communities, all learning from one another as we engage in an exciting process of historical exploration and discovery.

We seek to train and involve people of all ages and backgrounds in the arts of attentive listening and faithful re-telling. We are fascinated not only by the historical facts conveyed by those with whom we converse, but also by their gifts of language and story-telling. We are committed to documenting, recording and transcribing the memories of the citizens of Newton County, in ways that will be easily accessible to future generations. Please join us our journey of mutual discovery, as we listen to the marvelous array of voices that make up our community.
